Calculate your baseline first
It calculates wall area from 2 × (length + width) × height, optionally adds ceiling area, subtracts openings, multiplies by coats, then divides by your selected paint coverage and adds waste.
Paint is purchased in fixed can sizes, so the tool rounds up from the required amount. The leftover value helps you decide whether a smaller can size or different pack combination would reduce waste.
Use the coverage printed on your paint label. Smooth primed walls often cover more area, while textured, porous, dark-to-light colour changes and unprimed surfaces usually need more paint.
