Calculate your baseline first
Use (percent ÷ 100) × value. For example, 20% of 150 is 0.20 × 150 = 30.
Use (part ÷ total) × 100. If the total is zero, the percentage is undefined because division by zero is not valid.
Use ((new − old) ÷ old) × 100. Positive results are increases; negative results are decreases. If the old value is zero, percent change is undefined.
