Trucker Calculator
Estimate fuel usage, trip expenses, driving time, revenue, profit, and cost per mile for a trucking load.
Add trip distance, loaded miles, empty miles, rate per mile, and average speed.
Include fuel economy, fuel price, driver pay, tolls, maintenance, and other expenses.
See projected revenue, total trip cost, net profit, fuel use, and cost per mile.
Revenue is calculated from loaded miles only. Fuel use is based on total miles divided by average MPG. Driver pay and maintenance are applied to total miles. Real operating costs can vary due to idling, terrain, fuel taxes, insurance, depreciation, repairs, detention, lumper fees, and route changes.
How is trucking profit calculated?
Estimated profit equals gross load revenue minus fuel, driver pay, maintenance, tolls, permits, and other trip expenses.
Should deadhead miles be included?
Yes. Empty miles still consume fuel and add driver and maintenance costs, so they are included in total trip mileage.
What is a good cost per mile?
It depends on truck type, financing, insurance, fuel prices, maintenance, and business overhead. Use your own real costs for the most useful result.
