Review the payment, total cost and estimated APR.
The calculator assumes a fixed-rate, fully amortizing loan with equal payments and fees paid upfront. APR is estimated by solving for the periodic rate that equates the net amount received with the scheduled payments, then annualizing that rate.
What is the difference between interest rate and APR?
The interest rate reflects the cost of borrowing the principal. APR also includes qualifying lender fees, making it more useful for comparing loans.
Why can APR be higher than the stated rate?
Upfront finance charges reduce the net amount received while payments remain based on the full loan amount.
Is this the same as a lender's disclosed APR?
It is an estimate. Official disclosures may use specific regulatory rules, fee classifications, rounding and payment timing.
