How deep should landscape rock be?
Decorative rock is commonly installed 2–3 inches deep. Larger stones may need a deeper layer, while pathways and drainage beds may require 3–4 inches or more.
How much extra rock should I order?
A 5–10% waste allowance is often useful for uneven ground, settling, compaction, and minor measurement errors.
How many square feet does one ton of rock cover?
Coverage depends on material density and depth. At 3 inches deep, one ton of typical river rock may cover roughly 75–85 square feet.
