How is wall area calculated?
The calculator multiplies the room perimeter by wall height, then subtracts standard estimated areas for doors and windows.
Should I include the ceiling?
This version estimates walls only. To calculate a ceiling, multiply room length by room width and add that area before applying coats and coverage.
How many coats should I use?
Two coats are common for a strong, even finish. One coat may be enough for touch-ups or similar colors, while major color changes may require three.
Why does the calculator round up containers?
Paint is sold in fixed container sizes, so the calculator rounds up to ensure you have enough paint to finish the job.
